Meet Charlene

Certified NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) & mBIT Coach

20 years’ experience in the electronic media, from presenter to Managing Director of Kaya FM turning a loss-making entity into an R75m per annum business with significant profit margins, and the 2nd biggest radio station in Gauteng in 2008. My achievements in this regard have been acknowledged by a range of awards, including being ranked amongst the ABSA/MTN ‘Ten Most Remarkable Women in Business’ in 2004 and receiving the BMF Talent management award in 2005.

From 2008 to 2014 I consulted to a variety of sectors in business from industrial equipment, Tselane Tambo’s TV Channel, to LoveLife facilitating their Media Strategy session for Radio in 2013. I have in-depth experience in developing business plans and facilitating strategic planning sessions that enable businesses to achieve their desired goals.

Most recently I ventured back to an old love namely that of education (teaching) and was approached to take on the mantle of Project Director of the NECT programme for JET Education Services.  This was an ideal opportunity to explore the education sector to bring about positive change on a large scale in the system. I managed the logistics of the rollout of teacher materials in key subjects of English First Additional Language, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology through to Physical Sciences as well as Foundation Phase Home Languages to 15000 schools across Limpopo, Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga and North West.

Since then I have been working in NGOs and am now spearheading a researcher capacity-building programme called JETStreaming for JET Education Services.

I am a businesswoman, speaker, mentor and coach.
